At Mind Body Balance Counseling, we believe in a holistic approach to mental health care. We focus on treating the whole person to promote lasting well-being. Our comprehensive treatment philosophy integrates the mind and body, recognizing the crucial interplay between diet, lifestyle, and stress management in mental health. By addressing these foundational elements first, we create a solid base where cognitive restructuring can happen. This also provides support for effective coping mechanisms to be built.

We collaborate with clients to develop personalized care plans. Because of the well rounded approach, these include customized nutritional guidance, lifestyle adjustments, and stress reduction techniques. Once these essential aspects are in place, we work together to explore and restructure cognitive patterns. Our goal is to foster healthier thinking and emotional responses.

Matthew - owner

Matthew Reed, MA LAC, Owner

As a military veteran, former first responder, husband, and father, Matthew’s diverse background provides him the ability to create a unique approach to mental health. He involves mental coping strategies and diet and lifestyle changes, directly impacting neurologic function. Specializing in trauma and relationships, Matthew recognizes how addressing and dealing with real, emotional wounds can profoundly transform the way we connect with others. He uses a variety of therapies, primarily EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help clients overcome their struggles. Coming from a prior profession that held a negative view toward addressing mental health, Matthew understands the stark difference between ignoring and “dealing” with things. He believes that approaching them with an open mind is the way for peace and healing. He provides a comfortable environment for even the most hesitant client allowing them to share their struggles to find peace.

Jacquelyn Reed, Functional Nutrition Coach (FNC)

Our nutritionist, Jacky, is trained and specialized in treating symptoms like blood sugar regulation, autoimmune flareups, joint pain, and gut imbalances. Jacky is well-versed in listening to her clients’ needs and being there for them at every turn. She collaborates with her clients to identify which symptoms are a priority and provides the plan to help them.

As a prior physical trainer and graduate of the Functional Nutrition Alliance, she has spent over eight years helping others improve their body composition and free themselves of symptoms and illnesses. She became passionate about helping others outside of the standard medical model during her 13 years of nursing experience in the ER and ICU. It was working in the hospital environment that led her to believe wholeheartedly in the healing art of nutrition, not solely medicine. She believes, firstly, in whole-body healing and wants her clients to experience it too!
